The varieties grown in Messinia are mostly white (Fileri, Asyrtiko, Roditis, Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc) and red (Fokiano, Mandilaria, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah), perfectly acclimatized to the area, at an altitude higher than 70 metres, having a yield of about 800 kilograms per 1,000 m2.

The grapes of Messinia give local wines with excellent organoleptic properties: Local Wine of Messinia, Local Wine of Trifyllia and Local Wine of Pylia. Messinian wines have the unique features of the land on which the grapes grew. They are characterized by their fruity aromas, full flavour and vivid colour.
